The company was founded during 2009 by the late Dr Werner Emslie. Dr Marcus Mathale came on board during 2014 and Dr Mariëtte Emslie joined him after her husband’s untimely death on 20 Sept 2017.
Dr Mathale is currently the legally appointed OMP at Exxaro Grootegeluk Coal Mine. He is responsible for overseeing medical examinations, handling injuries on duty as well as determining fitness for work of workers with chronic conditions.
Dr Emslie is responsible for the medical examinations at the premises of LOHS and the administration of the company.
The main focus of the Lephalale Occupational Health Services is medical assessment of workers to determine fitness for work. Our medical examinations conform to legal requirements and we strive to always maintain a high standard. We make it our business to help companies to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as The Mine Health and Safety Act.
